Desktops, Tablets, and Mobiles Oh My!: Adaptive and Responsive Web Design

It’s hard to go anywhere on the web without someone mentioning “Responsive Design” from twitter streams to Wed Design articles this topic is booming along with the multiple devices that we can now uses to access the web. From Mobile phones, tablets, desktops and even TVs you can access your favorite website from just about anywhere. Each of these devices all having their own screen sizes and resolutions and way of interacting from mouse and keypad to touch base input and remotes. In this session I will talk about Responsive Design but also get into Adaptive Design which is commonly overlooked. Though we have scaled down a site in the amount of space it takes up on a screen we haven’t exactly scaled down the size and could be wasting time loading unnecessary content, images and javascript libraries that is just making the person currently wanting to view your site from a mobile device having to wait; and time is money.
